Springing back to life!

We managed to survive January which is always something to be celebrated. Not only did we survive, we had a really great month! We closed our doors for a couple of weeks to give everybody a well-earned rest after the hectic Christmas period, and headed off to Paris for a short break. We were lucky enough to eat in some great restaurants such as L’Ami Jean, La Poule au Pot and Tomy & Co. We really enjoyed the trip and brought back a little bit of new inspiration to boot.

Since then it has been all go, and we’ve been delighted to come home to some brilliant recognition for everyone at the restaurant. We were shortlisted for New Waterford Business of the Year in the annual Waterford Chamber of Business Awards (winner to be announced on 8 March); we made it into the Sunday Times McKenna Guides top 100 restaurants in Ireland and even made the top 30 romantic restaurants list in the Independent just in time for Valentine’s Day. What a start to the year!!

We had a great evening at the end of January co-hosting the Waterford Chamber business after hours event with the Theatre Royal. Held in the new Stage Door Bar, we got the opportunity to showcase our food and meet the people driving the Waterford business community. Hopefully it will be the first of many collaborations between us. What could be better than a pre-theatre meal at Everett’s followed by a show at the Theatre Royal just around the corner?!

We’re really looking forward to the year ahead, and with the evenings beginning to brighten, hopefully we will see the tourists start to flock back to our great city for a summer of sun and fun. It’s a brilliant time of year for food too and our spring menu is on its way.

It’s hard to believe that we will be one year in business at the end of March. Thanks to everyone who has supported us in our first 12 months. Here’s to many more!
